Sargoods Restaurant Wins Award - 1st October 2009
Congratulations to Wanaka’s Edgewater Resort for wining ‘Best Lamb’ Award at the Hospitality Association of NZs Awards for Excellence!
The dish, a braised and pressed Merino lamb leg, with whipped potato, green pea mash, smoked tomato and jus was recognised by the judges ahead of tough competition from The Westin Auckland Light Quay, The Palms Restaurant in Dunedin and Stations Inn in Hokitika.
The dish was created by Executive Chef Damon McGinnis who took inspiration from the surrounding region. “The merino lamb is sourced locally, from the Cardrona Valley, and we wanted to reflect our close connection with the region.”
