Lake & River Water Fun

Dip your toe in, dip a rod in or launch your boat in to the crystal-clear heart of the region’s outdoor lifestyle. Just pick yourself a waterway, you’ll most likely be the only ones there.

For many people the water around the Lake Wanaka region is the main reason to visit and you can’t blame them.

On the lakes there’s plenty of space for everything from sedate sailing to genteel angling and high-velocity jet boating without even coming in view of each other, while family paddling and elite open water swimmers can be equally unaware.

And it’s up to you whether you bring some friends along to enjoy the place or just choose from an endless supply of waterside spots you can have to yourself.

Apart from the odd trout cruising past that is, there’s a heap of them.

Lake Wanaka and water. If only everything in life was this clear.
