Sustainable Wanaka

 

Sustainable Wanaka

Sustainable Wanaka has been working in conjunction with Lake Wanaka Tourism for the past three years on the Sustainable Tourism project.
 

Sixty five tourism businesses in total have been through a programme to make their businesses more sustainable. These have included accommodation, retail, transport and activity businesses. Each business has developed a sustainable vision for their own business which fits within the charter for Sustainable Wanaka. (see tab "Our Charter"). Each business has been audited and then an assessment with an action plan was developed for implemetation.
 
Funding is currently being sought to carry on a support service for these businesses over the following year.
