Lake Wanaka is  home to the largest and most varied ski terrain in Australasia with six internationally rated ski areas and the largest heli-skiing area outside of North America. For off-snow days, downtown Wanaka is the base for countless activities including jet boating, four wheel driving, golf,  rock climbing, lake cruises,  mountain biking and our unique attractions.

Full day  suggestions:

• Hit the slopes for some down hill skiing at Cardrona or Treble Cone 
• For something different try Snow Park - the only dedicated terrain park
• Get a complete work out at Snow Farm - New Zealand's only cross country ski area
• Or heli ski in the largest heli-skiing area outside of North America.

Half day suggestions:

• Take the kids up the hill and have some fun sledding in the snow
• If you're not a skiier but want a great coffee and fantastic views then take the chairlift to the top of Treble Cone to see Mt Aspiring and the most spectacular views.
• Visit one of our unique attractions
• Or have a round of golf and a coffee and shop in town

Evening suggestions:

• Check out the apres ski atmosphere in the bars around town or at Cardrona Hotel
• Sit back in a spa pool and watch the stars.
• Enjoy a superb meal at one of our many restaurants.
