Autumn Colours

Autumn is a season of inspiration when the days cool and the colours turn to vibrant reds and golds.

Lake Wanaka is a perfect place to kick your way through piles of crisp dry leaves. Whatever your age you just can't resist it!

It's all about the calm weather and calming colours, pin-sharp lake reflections and wisps of smoke from the first wood fires of the year.

Autumn at Lake Wanaka offers everything you can do in summer but with a distinctly memorable atmosphere of a season special in its own way.

It's also when the people and stock of the agricultural community arrive for their annual A&P Wanaka show, the artistic come to town for the Festival of Colour and the Autumn Art School, nostalgia fans and sightseers from around the world turn up for Warbirds Over Wanaka and serious sports people fill the region for all manner of endurance challenges.

And most of them keep coming back each year.

Dress for autumn. Fall for Lake Wanaka.
