Meander along an avenue of gold with only the mighty River Clutha for company as it flows alongside you, catching the falling autumn leaves and carrying them away, far of sight. For a couple of weeks during autumn, the 5km long Outlet Track in Lake Wanaka is a breathtaking site as the poplars and willows shed their leaves in a riot of gold, red and orange.
