Mahu Whenua Homestead is fully hosted lodge which includes chef prepared meals during your stay and on-site hosts to ensure your stay is seamless and memorable. The Homestead is an intimate and exclusive boutique accommodation offering with just five suites. We have four different room types available to choose from, including a family suite suitable for families travelling with younger children.

Mahu Whenua is New Zealand’s largest private conservation project, covering 136,000 acres of land. The owner of the property has worked hard to rejuvenate the land to its original state with extensive research undertaken and planting of native trees, resulting in increasing numbers of native birdlife in the area.
The name Mahu Whenua aptly translates to healing the land, and the conservation story is a fascinating part of the history of the property. Guests of Mahu Whenua Homestead can enjoy numerous activities exploring the exclusive private property including hiking, biking, horse riding and 4WD tours, and can also learn more about the conservation efforts from those who are directly involved.
