Wanaka Weddings: Loz & Scotty

What a way to celebrate the New Years! This wedding really blew all the other parties out of the water.

Loz and Scotty share their story, secrets and tips on their epic New Years Eve wedding in Wanaka.

Why Wanaka?

It was a no brainer - having grown up here, fallen in love here, and lived together here…we didn't need to look any further. Oh, and not to mention the stunning backdrop we had to work with!

Any advice for other brides?

Get help on the day! Whether you plan everything yourself, or it’s a team effort, get someone to be there on the day. The 'go-to' person. This allows you to relax and know that whatever happens, someone has it sorted. Oh - and enjoy every moment! And - if the budget allows…get a video.

What time of the year did you get married and why?

NYE! We were very frequently asked WHY! Although we were in puffer jackets setting up the day before, we had an absolute stunning HOT Summer's day for the wedding. A slight breeze would have come in handy.

What is your “must do” when getting married in Wanaka

We loved our night of 'glamping' on our wedding night. Dropped off in the middle of nowhere, next to the Clutha River, just the two of us. Waking up as husband and wife with no cell phones, spectacular scenery, and amazing memories!
