For a little town with a relatively small farmers market, we have more than our fair share of artisan producers (which makes us very happy!). Here’s 5 tips to help you get the goods!

1. Arrive early

To get the freshest and best produce and crafts – you need to arrive early to beat the locals! Vendors start to arrive from about 2:00 pm, but don’t worry if you can’t get there early as there’s plenty of goodies to go around.

2. Make it good

These treats look good, taste good and are good for you! Good Roots sell to many local cafes but also appear at the Wānaka Artisan Markets with their bright coloured plant based, gut friendly treats.

Get your daily bread and find out what all the fuss is about. The People’s Bread took out Supreme Runner Up at the Cuisine Artisan Awards s few years ago!

4. Looking for a healthy kick start

Revive is batch brewed Kefir Water, made in Wānaka by a young start up business. The only difficult part is deciding which flavour to choose.

The Wānaka Artisan Market is held every Thursday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm right in town centre alongside Lake Wānaka at Bullock Creek in front of Speights Ale House and is one of the few markets in the region that runs year-round.
