Winter 2017 in Wanaka

From awe-inspiring views to friendly locals, two amazing ski resorts, New Zealand’s only cross country ski area and phenomenal heli-skiing, Wanaka really does have it all.
What sets Wanaka apart though is at its core, it’s a real ski town.

Treble Cone

Treble Cone might just have the most beautiful views of any ski resort in the world with jaw-dropping vistas of the surrounding Southern Alps and Lake Wanaka below.
Treble Cone offers steep, deep and fast for the more advanced and some more gentler groomed runs for the intermediates.
Over summer Treble Cone has invested in a state of the art snowmaking system to ensure skiing and boarding from opening to close. The newly-installed pipes, pumps and snow guns will service Easy Rider from the top of Home Basin all the way down to the base lodge, as well as providing security around snow cover for Main Street.

Cardrona is the peoples' mountain. With some of the worlds best terrain parks, kid specific areas, to wide open groomed runs - you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
Cardrona have also invested in some new infrastructure with a brand new ‘combined’ express lift of 8-person gondola cabins and 6-seater chairs. The Mcdougall’s Express 'Chondola' will increase lift capacity by 150%, meaning less times in queues and more time skiing and boarding.
If you’re bringing the kids this winter then there's no better place for them than the new and improved Ski Kindy. It’s the one stop shop covering everything from gear to lessons so more time on the slopes for you.

Snow Farm

High on the Pisa Range, Snow Farm offers a range of winter activities and on-snow accommodation for the whole family.
With over 55kms of cross-country trails, snowshoeing, dog-sledding, fat-tyre bikes, tube and tobogganing, snow play areas and so much more - there is always something on and something to do.
If you’re looking for something different Snow Farm is the perfect place to have some fun in the snow in a friendly and safe environment.

Wanaka really comes alive in winter with a town that lives and breathes snow, it’s contagious. After a long day on the slopes you’re spoilt for dining options to fit any budget and of course there’s always a bar or pub to have a night-cap or two. Need a day off the slopes? No worries! There are plenty of options to keep you entertained from wine-tastings, Puzzle Worlds, WildWire, Kayaking, Eco Adventures, Boat Tours, Skydiving and Scenic Flights.
