Back in 2009 Mons Royale was founded out of the need of a travelling ski bum. The need for functional base layers that didn’t look boring. Something that performs on the mountain; that didn’t stink, even if you didn’t wash it for a while: Merino baby!
But Merino looked boring back then, there was a need for something that was visually rad, something to wear proudly off mountain, when the jackets are off. This need for versatility—the pack less, do more mentality—resulted in the creation of Mons Royale right here in Wānaka.
The Mons Royale retail store on Helwick Street has the largest Mons Royale range available, with all the colours, prints and sizes you could wish for. Not to mention knowledgeable and friendly staff that can answer all your questions about how rad and versatile merino wool is.
