Three venues designed to capture the very beauty of sound itself. The environment nurtures us, the landscapes sway us, the mountains fuel us - but the music connects us. Spectacular sounds against majestic landscapes, the best of New Zealand alongside international musicians and lifelong enthusiasts alongside curious adventurers, At the World’s Edge is a classical music festival inspired by its roots in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

More than a series of intertwined live events in Wanaka, Cromwell and Queenstown, we are a platform for the arts in our stunning region and a spark for creativity to come. Find out what we stand for and take your seat at the inaugural AWE Festival. Designed for the young and the old, the new to chamber music and the long-standing enthusiasts alike, the AWE 2021 Festival is about forging connections and sharing experiences, providing a new stage for classical music in our beautiful region.

Follow the journey of our five composers - Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Clara Wieck, Reena Esmail and our NZ Composer-in-Residence Salina Fisher - whose works intertwine throughout our three 2021 AWE Festival performances. Experience classical music like never before, in a series of intimate settings that invite you to be still, be inspired, and be a part of the very music itself.

Awe is when the sublime leans over us, the sense of insignificance when presented with something bigger than ourselves, something beyond our grasp.
