Accommodation and Work Permits
Wānaka has a wide range of accommodation from backpackers and motels to rental houses and rooms to rent. The Wānaka Sun (Wānaka's local paper produced weekly) and The Messenger (a bulletin produced weekly) are both good sources for jobs, accommodation and other information. Another good website is Wānaka Live the local radio station
Do I need to have a work visa?
At certain times of the year, mainly the summer months, we have shortages in hospitality and building trades in the Wānaka area. You may be a candidate for sponsorship or a Variation of Conditions to your current NZ Work Permit. In the winter months we are generally unable to sponsor people as there is an influx of people to Wānaka. For more information on obtaining a work visa, a skilled migrant visa for possible residency and to order and immigration pack, check out Immigration New Zealand
